ATOM has two different integrations for tracking your mobile app analytics - Firebase and Amplitude. Both are powerful tools, but they serve different purposes and are designed for distinct aspects of app development and user behavior tracking.

In both cases ATOM transfers data on a variety of app events to help you better understand and analyze your customer behaviour.

Below you will find a comparison of Firebase and Amplitude in order to make a decision which one to choose for your specific business case:

  1. Event tracking & analysis:

    Firebase - Tracks basic app events like screen views, button clicks, and in-app purchases. Predefined events and parameters make it easy to get started. Lacks advanced segmentation and cohort analysis compared to Amplitude.


    ​Amplitude - Offers highly customizable event tracking with advanced segmentation, funnels, and retention analysis. Allows tracking complex user journeys, such as multi-step flows or recurring behaviors. Ideal for deep-diving into user behaviors and identifying friction points.

  2. Data Visualization:

    Firebase - Provides simple dashboards with charts for tracking events, user engagement, and retention. Integrates with BigQuery for more advanced custom reporting.


    ​Amplitude - Advanced visualizations with funnels, cohorts, retention charts, and user flows. Built-in tools for creating detailed, interactive reports.

  3. Integrations:

    Firebase - Seamlessly integrates with Google products like Google Ads and BigQuery, also integrates with third-party tools but with fewer options compared to Amplitude.

  4. Pricing:

    Firebase - Free tier includes most features but charges for advanced usage (e.g., BigQuery exports). Cost-effective for small to mid-sized apps.
