There may be situations when an IoT device and/or vehicle is damaged beyond repair or is being removed from your operations for other valid reasons.

In case you would like to remove it from your dashboard completely, as it would not be used in your fleet anymore, please note that it will be possible only in case the IoT device and/or vehicle has no ride history attached to it yet.

Unfortunately if the IoT device has been used for a vehicle with rides already, ATOM is unable to delete it from your dashboard and our database, as there are many data connections for the record of this IoT device already - vehicle, rides, customers etc.

In order to maintain system stability and data traceability in our system, the IoT device record in this case needs to be preserved. Same applies to the vehicle record.

We advise to proceed as follows in order to limit the visibility of unused IoT devices on your side in the dashboard:

1) detach the unused IoT from a vehicle record in the dashboard;

2) in the Manage IoT section leave an internal note for the IoT to indicate it's out of service;

3) remove the SIM card from the device if possible or deactivate it via your mobile operator/SIM card provider remotely.

You can rename a vehicle you would otherwise wish to remove entirely from the dashboard, attach a different vehicle model to it and change the status for it to Not Ready, for example.

Similarly, if you previously have created a subaccount that is no longer needed, you will only be able to delete it if no IoT devices and vehicles related to this subaccount have had no rides yet. Otherwise deletion of the subaccount will not be possible.

In this case we advise to rename the subaccount and make sure it's marked as inactive / deprecated.
