There are multiple payment gateway services available in the European region. Stripe and Adyen are one of the biggest operators in this segment, and ATOM is integrated with both. Below we have a comparison of pricing offered by Adyen and Stripe, as well as a special offer for ATOM clients that wish to use Adyen.

The pricing model in Adyen's case is IC++, instead of "blended", which is charged by Stripe.

The difference between Blended and IC++:
The blended rate is one general fee (fixed and % from the transaction) which needs to include all the extreme ends of interchange and scheme fees from different card-issuing banks like AMEX and Diners Club, etc., which are very high. But for Stripe to offer simple pricing, they make it very high to mitigate their own risk of losing profits after the interchange and scheme fees.

IC++ rate separates all these fees and provides 100% transparent pricing on interchange and scheme fees. This means you pay these fees without a hefty margin that Stripe puts on top of when providing the blended fee.

ATOM's special Adyen offer:

Includes payment methods: Cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Paypal, Klarna
Processing fee: 0.13 EUR (this is the fixed fee per transaction)
Fraction/acquiring fee: 0.55% (this is the % from transaction value)
IC++ fee: ATOM and Adyen cannot control this part. These are the fees set by card providers, but on average, for the EU, it is 0.25-0.35% per transaction.
Below is a list provided by Adyen demonstrating the difference in those fees for cards:

Based on the above, your average transaction processing fee for a 2,- EUR trip would be as follows on Adyen:

0.13 EUR + 0.011 EUR + 0.006 EUR (avg. of 0.3% for EU card scheme and interchange fees) = 0.147 EUR total per 2,- EUR transaction.

Compared with Stripe: If you are paying Stripe 0.25 EUR as a fixed fee per transaction, and additionally 1.5% blended rate of processing fees, you end up paying = 0.25EUR + 0.03EUR = 0.28 EUR total per 2 EUR transaction.

If you'd like to take advantage of this offer, please don't hesitate to let us know at help@atommobility.com, and we can guide you through the following steps and help onboard with our Adyen offer.

In case you do want to stay with Stripe, but get a transaction rate improvement - 1.4% + 0.14 EUR on EU cards and payments, you can onboard with our Stripe Connect offer as well. More info here.
