In cases when you encounter a high percentage of fraudulent rides (more than 5% of rides end up in debt), customer profiles and debtors, you can take a few precautions to decrease these numbers.
In the dashboard section More -> Settings -> System Preferences -> Payments you can adjust the following parameters:
- enable "wallet" payment scheme instead of "pay after ride" scheme:
- increase the minimum amount the user needs to have in their wallet to start the ride:
- allow your users to ride and/or purchase subscriptions only using real money:
- enable automatic top-up of the user wallet:
- enable "stop the ride" function if the riders wallet balance reaches 0 EUR during an active ride:
In the dashboard section More -> Marketing -> Promo codes you can:
- delete all promo codes granting bonuses to new and/or existing users:
In the dashboard section More -> Settings -> System Preferences -> Referral Program you can:
- disable the referral program:
You can also do the following by reaching out to ATOM support team directly:
- enable ID verification for new users registering in your apps. ID verification can be manual (note you will need to have an employee dedicated to monitoring the ID verification section of the dashboard) or you can choose a 3rd party service for ID verification with integrated artificial intelligence solution (ATOM supports Veriff and SumSub at the moment).
These actions will ensure that customers cannot create many fake accounts, ride using only promo codes and referral bonuses and use your vehicles for a long time without paying afterwards.
Keep in mind that for an overall positive user experience it's very important to balance out the actions you choose to implement in order to decrease the fraud and debt while still ensuring a user-friendly service for your customers. For example, setting up a minimum wallet balance of 20 EUR could reduce debt to 0,0001 %, however it will detract around 50% of your normal customers, meaning that overall your service will lose more than it will gain.
Generally ATOM recommends to focus on how user-friendly your service is as long as the customer debt for your service remains under 5% of the overall monthly turnover.
